So, the demo for this game has finally went live as of yesterday on the 360 and the 30th for the PS3, has anyone had a chance to give it a shot yet?

I played through it a couple times, and I gotta say, I'm a bit impressed. I like the games overall style and putting combat and guns on the back burner in favor of speed, evasion, and fast disarms. Movements are very fluid in the game and the style of the environment: clean, bright white buildings with blue and red pipes, blue shadows, and other strong colors make it pretty appealing. Especially if you're like me and been playing Gray and more Gray Fallout 3 recently.

What surprises me the most about is this is that it's developed and published by EA. The demo felt very complete and in fact, controls were great and the speed was perfect. But... then again this is a demo... by EA...

Only complaint I got is the marketing they did for the game. I only browse through gaming sites occasionally when I'm bored so I never really saw much about this, the few things I did see were live action shots and for a long time I thought it was a movie. Then when I learned of the game... I thought the game was a license and usual shit adaptation of the movie. It wasn't until pretty recently that I figured out there was no movie at all. Ugh.

Played the demo the other night and it plays real smooove. Probably will get it on the RD but won't play it for awhile cuz of LBP, Dead Space, and Fallout 3.

The footage looks amazing.

Hopefully it's not too long before I get my greedy mitts on it.

Technically it's not developed by EA. It's developed by a company that EA bought, DICE.

Was pretty good though. I'd buy it.

True enough, I just get worried even for acquired companies that their staff gets whipped by upper EA to make obscene deadlines and hold additional features for expansions/DLC like they've been doing a lot lately.

One downside I've heard about this game is that it's story mode is supposedly really short. like 6-7 hours short. If it anything like the demo though I can see a lot of replayability to find different/better/faster routes and trying to avoid engaging enemies.

If that's the case I may just wait for it to go on sale or buy it used later on. No need to pull the trigger on this game and pay full retail when there are so many good game out atm.

That's what I'm thinking too. I never popped a preorder down on it, so I'll just wait, see how it comes out and if it's really that short just pick it up used in a couple months.

But If you preorder it, it'll come with a sweet yellow messenger bag!

Played the demo, thought it sucked. The first person view just doesn't work for me at all. If there was a third person perspective, I think it would be significantly better.

That can be said about most games though. I still wonder about how much better Metroid:Prime would've been had it not been a FPS.

At least with Mirror's Edge, it seems I can get past that a lot faster.

Oh boy! I'm sure I'll use it all the time like my GTAIV Lock box and duffel bag! :raven:

I know right, I'm picking up Gears of War 2 from Circuit City, cuz you'll get 1600 MS points when you do and I know I'll use that.
