One year ago today I was sitting in a boring class at college when I got a message from narrator, his usual whining about how the EAO forums have been gone for about three weeks. Nobody had a home and everyone was spread out. After some ranting and raving we figured "Why not try creating a board ourselves?" I hit up google and trolled around a bit and came upon Invision Free's site, I took a look at their features and it seemed pretty good for a freebie, so I registered the board and had narhair sign up.

The next week or two I picked up some CSS coding and gave the board a very rough skin and bit by bit we let a few people in until we had concluded that the board still looked like shit but it was as good a time as ever to start tracking people down and bringing them all on.

If you would have told me or nar that this board would still be around one year later we would have both called bullshit on it, but damn, some things never cease to amaze. Not only is this board still alive, it doesn't look bad with a half-decent imitation copy of Ewdi's old board skin and some 30 rotating images up in the top banner (expect a few new ones to be popping up as I retire old ones throughout the week). Hell we even went so far as to completely fuck up Katsu, the reason why we're all here in the first place.

Which leads me to An Epic Tale, narhair created a small update for it that picks up right where it left off, check the link up top to read the whole story. Any comments/complaints go to narrator, it's his story.

So since AO-X hit the big first year anniversary I'm starting to think we might actually settle down here for a while. To celebrate this I'm opening up the gates, if there's ANYTHING you want, make a post in here and I'll see if it's possible, new features, forums, smilies (yes even your stupid smilie, KenX), a custom user color for your user name, or even some top banner images you might have that would go nicely with the site (nothing hard to extract or anything...).

Oh yeah, and I might as well mention it, Invisionfree's begun betatesting of their new boards called Zetaboards. Eventually all invision free boards will be upgraded to this, the database and everything will carry over so there's no need to worry, but a whole slew of new features will be unlocked. If you're curious for whatever reason I created a test Zetaboard, unfortunately they started the beta without allowing people to skin the board! wtf, that the most important part! Supposedly this week they should be unlocking that feature. Anyway, here it is, as new things are unlocked I'm gonna tweak it, and if I like it, I'll upgrade this board when the option is available. Who knows, maybe even a journal will be possible in it.

I'll try and conjure up a list of features I think will be good addition. I do agree with Pyoro's request at the moment...not bad at all.

The edit silver's post option is actually pretty good, but I have no way of allowing people to edit just one members, post, it's all or nothing, and there's dick heads like narrator around here who would take it too far.

All in all, it's been a good year. Many old timers registered although they don't post much/at all. We made an AO invasion and got Katsu back to the whiffy grotto he crawled out of.
Gorecreeps inc. continued business as usual and there's nothing bad about that.
